Gas Tank Vent?
#11
I have 4 ft of line but my prob is that I dont know where to run it. The guys at the dealership dont know either. Your saying down the steering stem? Not sure what you mean. I had it running to the back of the back untill last night when I saw it was filled with mud from the ride the day before.

you dont have to go into the pod if you dont want too... it has to go higher so that the fuel wont act like a syphon.... laws of gravity... with it higher the air will escape and enter before the fuel letting... it to balance itself as the level drops.....

Imagine being an a hillside with a full tank of gas. If the vent line doesn't go up higher than the tank, you just may wind up with a siphon.
On mine, there's a clip on the steering stem just below the pod. You can see where the hose would go down through that after it looped over the bars.

LOL very true, but I almost have to go into the pod, the vent comes right on on top of the tank and the next highest spot would be in the pod.
So your hose goes right into the stem?
When you guys overfill your bikes do you ever notice gas leaking out the vent line?

oh ya you can get some fuel to come out if you take the time and fill it to the neck... as for the smell it will be there.... i notice it more when i have my windshield on....but throttle it up burn the gogo juice.... and you froget all about the drips and smell....

But if I run to the pod and loop it and run down the steering stem I shouldn't smell gas right so problem solved. Im going to look at it tonight with the pod off.
What do you guys think about putting a check valve on it for when Im in deep water or mud?
