Scrambler 400

Interesting read about modding a polaris scrambler 400, pretty simple really, other than the custom cylinder sleeve. Wish I had the money.
I bet that thing hauls but !!!!

Nice find... thanks for sharing...
A cool 1-off build... and the hand built exhaust... very cool, except on your leg and pull-starter... lol...
I'm pretty sure our state-side smaller displacement builds are a lot hotter performers though.
We can get in the 70hp range without getting big-bore like that... and still have a lot of bores left, and stroking, etc.
Myself, I am trying to save up to have the money ready when mine needs refreshing. I want to go one size over, port/polish, maybe some other goodies, and a nice pipe/silencer.
Actually, I'd rather just keep this one up as-is and start a Scrambler 400 build.
Here's my current '99 Sport 400L (XC)

you need to contact rick at ritter cycle racing. he builds 5mm strokers for the 400 polaris. and from what i hear they are best if not the only ones out there..

Yep, Rick does the strokers.
I would certainly think though that a stroker would be something you would "graduate" to later on... like after some builds, and to the point you need serious work on the bottom end.
