Bighorns are a good all-around tire also. I'm hoping to get a set of them for my 850 before winter too!

I've heard good things about them, all but the mud, they fill up quick, and don't clean out well, due to the close lug pattern, I'd check out the Mudlite XTR's, since you say you do alot of hardpack riding, they are radial, so they ride really good, and they will hold their own in the mud

If you don't want to spend that much on the mudlites, I'd go with Zilla's, they are super light, and an excellent all around tire

Default tires

just my 2 cents but stay away from the xtr`s. I live in maine and ride alot on hardpack and mud and so-on....i have 300 miles on the tires and i`ve already replaced 2 back tires both big punctures. Now i know it could just be me but!!!! i ride with a big group of riders and none of them have ever had a tire problem

i had a 2000 sportsman. i had 6000miles on those tires before i replaced them. they were 489 titans. they were a good tire. one plug in 8yrs. tar, gravel and woods driving. i do however dont like the pxts. they seem to be a pretty soft tire. iv had to patch both backs and they have less than 600miles on them. altho one was a screw and the other 2 holes were from the old granite railroads trails here. it seems to be pretty much a toss up. but seems that the 489s are a good tire. i did see the muds lits. not shure of the number. but they seem to wear out the centers pretty fast. least the ones iv seen anyways. or they have 30psi in them. just my thoughts anyways.
