Default SnowPlow Time...

I have a 2009 Polaris 850 XP and I wanna put a plow on it, I'm thinking either a 60" or a 72" Moose Plow Kit.

Anybody have any input on this? Suggestions?

I would not go 72", that would push you all over, and unless you have a huge @$$ driveway I wouldn't think about it, I have a 54", and I find it perfect, but I have heard good things about Moose plows, I have a warn, and have had 0 problems, and they came out with a new setup called provantage, if you search on here, there was a recent thread about it

Get the warn.. Great reviews Great Price, the New pro-vantage plow comes out Oct 1st and that seems to be the way to go. I don't think ur atv could push a 72 inch blade with 8+ inchs of snow.. thats alot of weight.

I had the Moose rapid mount w/ 60 inch on my SP800 and loved it. Much more metal than the Glacier. When I purchased my XP it came with a Glaicer. My plan was to sell it and install the Moose, but I found that Moose does not make a mount for the XP yet so I sold the Moose.

Having a very bad back I love the ease of both systems. When Moose comes out with a new system for the XP I will change back. But I will never get a 60 inch again. Its just too long. I prefer the 54 inch that I have now. Much easier to use. Best of luck!

This is my first year having an ATV and I have a plow for it. I was wondering, do you guys plow in Low or High. I have an 09 500ho. I wish my Low was more like the new xp's and their low.
Thanks in advance for any plowing advise you can give.

Plow in low range!
I have the 60" Glacier plow and have not had any real problems with it yet!
If several passes are required to plow the road/drive, start in the center of the road and work your way out.
Tires, Tires, Tires! Have good ones on to get the best bite you can! A little weight on the back will help to offset the weight of the plow and improve traction also!
Have FUN!

Thanks for the advice, sorry to steal the thread. I will have to put up a pick of my plow. It's looks like a homemade jobby I bought off dude on Kijiji. I had to modify the mount but it seems like it's going to hold up well.

You might also consider the offering from rockymountainatv.com They are branded Tusk brand but are made by American Eagle in Minn. I received mine a couple of weeks ago and am impressed with the quality of their mount and the ease it should afford to connecting and disconnecting. The only item I wasn't too thrilled with was their hardware.....some of it was wrong and some was just junk. But it's easy to replace nuts and bolts and given the price, I shouldn't complain too much. There's a coupon out there as well to save like $40 or so off of it. I've got it all set up now and am waiting for the snows!
Cheers,
