Transmission drain plug hits chain

I guess the Silent chain will keep streching until it wear's a hole thru the case.

Good point, does the chain continue to loosen until it starts wearing through the case?

Taking mine to dealer next week for same problem. Asked them what has been changed to fix problem. Dealer said part # for chain has changed, so thats all the info. I got from him. Guess I will try it and see. Fixing it under warranty.

just picked up the biike today and the mechanic said that the new chain is alot tighter and shouldnt hit on the drain plug. Guess I will find out when I change transmission oil again. Will post my findings.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you for the chain and labor to install it?

was under warranty, so paid the $50. just checked bill and chain is listed at $66 CDN. no price for drain plug.

I found this forum while searching this topic.

Just wondering if the only thing that needs to be replaced is the chain to correct this problem?

Any tips/suggestions for a DIY'er ?

nevermind... it all went Ok without a shop manual or any recommendations/suggestions.
