Default 2005 Magnum 330 4x4

New to the site but a long time lurker. My wife's Polaris started flashing the battery icon last week but only when it was above 4000 rpm's. The battery tested bad so I replaced it but it still is flashing at higher rpm's. If I turn the lights on and rev it up to 4000 there is no icon flashing. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums.

Do you have to reset anything when you initially clear a code?

I couldn't find any codes. The battery icon only flashes above 4000 rpm and that is riding it or reving it up to that point.

Sounds like the voltage regulator/ECM is out to me??.. the battery icon will flash on an overvoltage situation as well as a low voltage situation.. sounds like an overcharge to me... try and put a multi meter on the battery when the light is flashing...bet the volts are way too high.. over 15vdc.... try that. When you turn the lights on it eats up some of the volts/amps and turns the warning light off.

Yep, theirs your problem. Should not go over 15VDC. Check with your dealer and see if your VIN is on recall for the ECM.

Just got off the phone with the dealer and he said the bulletin for this model was completed. Is there a way to check the ECM?

Some people on here have had multiple bad ECM's. Not saying this is your problem. I am no electrical expert. Not sure if there is a way to test it outside of trying someone elses ECM off a simular machine? Most of the time you can't return electrical parts for good reason. Maybe some one else on here could help more.
