I can currently get a good deal on either of these.

I remember reading one had a better airbox, etc.

Which do you guys take?

Outlaw 450 MXR/KTM 450 XC/SX

Outlaw 525/KTM 525 XC/KTM 505 SX

 

KTM has the better airbox, and pretty much every other component as well. Nothing really wrong with the Polaris product, but you don't need to upgrade anything really on a KTM except perhaps adding nerfs to the XC models. Personally I would go for a 450 or 525xc because they fit perfectly with how I would use it.

 

I will be using it to ride on the Hatfield/McCoy Trails a lot....


Are they not making KTM ATVs anymore?

 

KTM's have they're flaw (crappy wiring) and so does the polaris, but overall I'd go with the KTM 525 XC, my buddy has one, and it rips, and has held up to some serious abuse

 

They are still going to make them. They just have to many '09 models on hand and won't be importing the '10 models. There aren't any changes for '10 though. I wouldn't be surprised if the '11 models have some updates.
