Default hand warmer etc electrical install on XP

Ironbear asked about this, so I will post what I have for future reference.

Any of the three connections under the little hood will work. They are all keyed and fused. I found a nice little connector that fit right on it.........

Here are the instructions I made.........

Polaris had this stuff in mind when building the XP. Not sure if any other years are the same, maybe they are. Coming from my Kawi, it was a pretty simple install.

Remove the front rack.

Then remove the two screws holding the little hood down. I think they are a T20 Torx. Headlight screws are T25 Torx and there are 5 of them. The hood slides right out.

You can see two or more pigtails in there, depending on if you have a winch or not. I used the red one. The red and orange colored ones are hot with the key on only. A male end connector fits in there perfectly. I think it was a 10-12AWG connector.

I put the ground under the headlight pod on a T25 torx screw that holds the headlight in place on the handlebars.

The rest of the excess wires fit easily inside the pod.

Thank you for the detailed instructions Roofer!

I'm unable to see the pictures at work, but plan on installing my grips next Monday as it's getting pretty cold up here in the North East.
