Default Riding after trails

I have a quick question. This past weekend was the first time me and my wife took out the 4 wheelers. We caked them with a bunch of mud. They are both cleaned up, but is there a after trip greasing or anything that needs to be done especially prior to winter? Thanks

complete cleaning of mud off the bike and out of the radiator. also if you have been in water w/ the grease fittings(newer bikes dont have many) should be greased to pump out the water from sitting in there and rusting. make sure you either battery tend the battery or charge it up real good beofre storage and run good fuel stablizer thru the bike and car/efi before letting it sit for long periods of time. oh and since they have chains, make sure to have them lubed real good to proteck the rubber o rings.

Check your clutch cover drain plug to empty out any water if it got in there too! after rides. I hear some pump up their tires a little extra for loss of air naturally in their tires.

What type of wheeler you have? (Carbs need more attention and turn off your gas switch if you have one, run the bike to run out the gas in the lines.) - depends what type of bike you have.

Cheers,

R'

I have a 2000 and a 2002 polaris trailblazer 250. I noticed there are a lot of spots that have to be greased. I don't think I went deep enough in any mud to get water inside the in the clutch cover but I will check it just in case. Is there a certain kind of grease or grease can that I should use? Also are these like cars when they sit, meaning should I put them up on blocks so the tires do not get flat spots in them? Thanks.

you use a grease gun that takes a greease cartridge to grease the grease(zerk) fittings only. you dont have to let the bike sit on blocks, but some do and it wouldn;t hurt any thing. i;m not sure if your clutch cover even has a drain plug in it for those years, but if it did it should be like a red screw/plug in the bottom rear area of the cover. if not then chances are it's fine w/out taking cover off for sure.
