I have a 2009 XP 550 with EPS that I purchased new. Shortly afterwards the fan quit running after only a 2 minute ride aroound the yard. The check engine light came on. I was able to get into the diagnostic mode and a code of 84 (top) and 4 (bottom) showed up. My service manual didn't have that code. THe dealer replaced the ECM and all was well for a while. I have experienced (hard steering) isues at times in the last month and the dealer can't duplicate the problem. Got the machine back and once or twice light for the P/S came on for a few seconds and went out...and the check engine light flickered, then went out. On a ride this weekend the hot light for the P/S came on again (after just unloading the machine from the trailer so it didn't have time to get hot) and the check engine light stayed on long enough to get the trouble code...again it is 84 (top) and 4 (bottom). When the dealer had the machine last month to try to troubleshoot my P/S problem, they re-flased the computer. Since then when it cranks it stumbles a bit then idles OK. It did not do that before the re-flash. Anyone else had the code 84 4 and the hot light for the P/S come on? Going to W Va this coming weekend and I am torn about going due to potential isues. Now the check engine light has gone out. Does anyone know if the dealer can retrieve the code and complete diagnostic service if the check engine light is not on?? Any help would be greatly appreciated...
