Default New Polaris 400 HO Questions

I bought a 09 400 HO this week, have a few questions.

1. No CV gaurds, wtf? anyway, what are the best aftermarket gaurds to buy and whats the cheapest place to get them?

2. Suspension setup. Im 215lbs, what would be the optimal settings for the front and rear suspension, the machine was delivered on the softest setting for both front and rear. i will also be using a plow during the winter.

thanks,
k47k

welcome. as far as cv guards, i made my own out of old plastic polaris i had. there are a few companies that make them including one that advertises on the forum. the rear on our 08' 400 we had was stiff on the softest setting so it's really trial and error on what works good for you. front w/ the plow is the same way, out it on a setting that will not bottom out when lifting the plow.

Factory ones from the 06-09 Hawkeye/Sportsman 300 are a direct bolt on.

Is the belt cover on it or do you just make sure your boot laces are not dangling near the pulleys. LOL

Before buying a set(ebay will be your cheapest route) I'd try to wrangle them from the dealer. I bought my 09 800 early this year and purchased a rear work light kit for it. To my surprise, the rear taillights were solid red and no hole for the rear work light bulbs. Went back to the dealer and they swapped them out with a set off a non-current machine for free. Worst they can do is say no. Would also comment on that when you get your survey from Popo on the machine. I voiced concerns over a number of items on mine and they actually contacted me. Perfect example of how that helps is the new 4x4 switch on the 09's. Enough people complained about the engine braking engaging too much when letting off the throttle going down a level surface. Now we have the option to choose 4x4 with or without ADC. Greasy wheel gets squeaked!
