I totally agree with MooseHenden's outlook. Polaris did have a bad rap in our hunting area. This was during the 2 stroke chain drive times when guys were taking them up the Alaska Highway to go hunting. It may just be the matter of the wrong machine for the job but we did a lot of pulling to get them out. Chain drive and willows don't go together. I think it becomes fist impression that stick with you. The first time I drove one was at a friends lodge and I was impressed with the suspension. Last trip up the Alaska Highway I ran into two guys, one riding a Polaris 800 and the other an AC. I was really impressed with the Polaris when I looked at it and now I own an 850 XP. It took a long time to change my original thoughts on Polaris machines but I'm really impressed with the 850. I just spent the weekend riding my 600 Grizzly and boy does that make me appreciate the 850.
I haven't had any luck with Fords either. I had an 84 Ford with the first diesel and the constant repairs ended up making the payments for my then new 92 Dodge with the Cummins. That Dodge was the best truck I've ever owned and I now have a 2002 Dodge with the Cummins.
Take good care,
Dave

I am VERY ticked off at GM and Chrysler for taking bailout money. So, am I wrong if I buy a Nissan Titan (that has all the features I want/need) that is made in Tennessee by an American worker or should I buy an American truck that is made in Mexico or Canada? If I do find an American pickup that has a good track record for reliability that is made in the US without tax dollar support I might consider one. In my opinion and for my own needs I can't afford to buy an overpriced truck that is going to cost me thousands more in non-maintenance items to keep running.
All of your schools and Government buildings are 100% tax funded also. Are you going to boycott them too?

I think the "again" part would say enough. But how about all the companies the government lets fail? Since they are using "our" money, shouldn't we have a say in who gets saved and who doesn't?
My wife worked for one of the banks that wasn't saved. Lost her job and half our income. But I got to watch the news every night showing the local auto workers complaining about just having to take time off from their $30 dollar an hour jobs.

I'm not defending the UAW or supporting the bailouts, but do we really have a say in where any of our tax dollars go?

I really don't understand this. Do people want them to fail again? I am no fan of the bailouts, but these are still American companies. If they would ditch the Union like Boeing is doing, they would be alot better off.

On the public school (childhood indoctrination camps) front I believe that the government should give back what they are spending on public schools back to the people paying taxes and let them choose which schools they want to spend their money on. Maybe then we'd see some quality coming out of public schools rather than the social engineering that is going on like here in Massachusetts. I know it's a dream but I'd like to see it. If public funding is coming to schools I believe each city or town should decide what they want to spend, not the federal government.

I love to buy American..... I drive Ford trucks, we have a Chevy car....I've owned probably 97% American cars all my life.......I did own a VW GTI for a while, and I also had a Nissan (Datsun) for a short time.....But mostly American..... We just bought a new Impala a few months ago.....
But when it comes to ATVs I do not like Polaris. But it has nothing to do with them being "junk" or not made well etc....... I simply do not like the ride...
For the most part they are very wide, very heavy, and handle like garbage compared to the Japanese machines. They also had CVTs and stupid single lever brakes....none of which I ever liked.....
Now this is based mostly on the past, and not on the present since I've never ridden one of the new XPs or 450/525 Outlaws...... But in the past this was almost always true without exception.
But a lot of people hate those things too and because of that they "bash" them.....

MADE IN TAIWAN.
Not sure how large you have to go to "Buy American" with Polaris. I own a 1999 Victory V92C since 2002; its been a great bike. Talk about getting bad mouthed for no reason.
