Default Stearing Stem Squeaking

Hello i have a 05 polaris sportsman 500 ho and i have a squeaking noise in the stearing stem bushings. I tried to put a grease fitting in the hole already drilled and when i put the clutch breather on, it hits the grease fitting. Any Ideas

lube the bushings with the fitting on and then take it out. you could try a fitting with a 90 degree elbow in it. there are different manufactures of fittings and if you look close they do make them with shorter snouts. you may end up just having to take it apart once a year and lubing this. you could try some marine grade grease,it thicker and doesn't wash out as most others do.
