Default 2007 800 Stealth Will Not Charge

Just joined here and was hoping someone could help...the battery icon flashes and the rpm gauge reads 0 at idle It doesn't always do this but most of the time...I have replaced the battery and completely went over the wiring. I replaced the voltage regulator....still does this
When i test the charge it reads around ten most of the time, but does go up to 13.5 some times, so it does sometimes charge. Very frustrating. It ends up eventually shutting down, then i have to charge the battery back up. Heres a dumb question: I did set the idle way down because i was having trouble shifting at idle, would that effect the computer at all?
thanks for any help

Someone will chime in with more experience than me, but it could be the stator. If you went thru all the wiring, did you take all plastic off, undo all the wire tie's that hold the wire loom together. That wire loom is the worst, it just fill's up with mud, drie's and starts rubbing the wire's inside. Just a thought. By the way welcome to the forum. I have the same exact machine with 1500 mile's so far pretty much trouble free except the trans and normal wear item's.

Thanks for the reply, i am going to go and rip it all apart again
Make sure you keep checking your oil...mine and my buddies both are leaking oil behind the water pump...his is also leaking water at the water pump. The oil drips on my plate, but not on my floor. This is the third one that i know that is doing this.

Check all connecttions, those from battery to selenoid have been loose, take red battery cable off selenoid and check tightness of connections behind battery connections.

I'll keep an eye on that oil leak, thank's. Mine doe's use some oil, but haven't noticed anything on the garage floor. I have the front end torn down now replacing the front axle, outer joint is bad, bought complete axle from the CV Man, cheaper then what Polaris wanted just for the parts for the outer joint. I'm in the wrong business.

Good Luck

if you check all the connections incluing the grounds, and find them good and you said you replaced the recifier it can only be either bad connections or a stotor issue. maybe some corrsion got in somewhere as you stated you get charging off and on. the bike should be running at 13 volts pretty much just idling or close to it. the bike should be idling around 1150 rpms as well. if the idle is set right and the bike is creeping forward or hard to shift then i would guess the ebs washers or bushing is the issue or if your lucky a bad front engine mount. good luck.
