Need some help putting busted throttle together!!
#1
Went riding today in the sloppy rain/snow mix. Then the cold set in and my throttle froze. I foolishy pushed harded on the thumb lever and then it moved freely but the throttle itself did not.
I took it apart and seen that I bent up that little metal peice that hooks up to the trottle cable. I bent it back and put it together. Now when I hit the gas, the engine bogs out and backfires. I think I messed up the EPT thing for the stuck throttle safety feature. I am not sure what to do now. Anyone have any ideas before I call the dealership? Thanks.

Be sure that when under throttle, the 2 little electrical contacts in the throttle assembly do not touch. If they touch at any speed above idle, you are going to lose your spark. What you need to do I don't know but I assume it will have something to do with how the metal piece inside got bent. Perhaps you didn't get it quite straight, and it is catching inside.
