Default Plow Mounting

Ok maybe a dumb question, but I figure I'll begin my research here. I have an 07 500 X2 with the woefully underdesigned piece o crap Glacier 2 plow system. After destroying this mounting frame (along with the frame of the atv) I'm looking to try a different set-up. I'm hoping the longer push tube type that attaches at the center of the frame will be stronger. What I'm wondering is, will my Polaris plow blade bolt on to this type of mount, like say a Warn push tube? I want to just buy the frame mount and the push tube and attach my blade to it. Anyone with experince in this?

Thanks.

Probably won't work without mods. May be able to get a glacier 1 x2 mounting plate and make that work. If it won't you'll have to bite the bullet and sell what you have to get a different system. Not sure what they were thinking with the glacier2 set-up. Nice that they lift higher but doesn't do much good when they get trashed if you plow over 5 mph. My glacier 1 has been bulletproof for almost 5 years.

thanks switzo. I also Glacier 1s on 2 of my previous machines and they performed flawlessly. Unfortunately when the Gacier 2 mount failed on my X2, it caused the front of my frame to bend upward into the bottom of my radiator. I no longer feel comfortable mounting the plow solely to the front of this machine, or I would go back to the Glacier 1. I'll probably end up buying a universal push tube assembly with a Polaris-compatible mount and fabricate some kind of bracket that will allow attachment of the Polaris blade.

I'm not sure as far as the mounting goes, but I have a warn plow, and I have been very pleased, I don't abuse it, but it will take a beating, and I also have heard good about the new Warn Provantage, it is a quick attach front mount, but it is much stronger, do a search on here, and you will find a couple of interesting threads.

i dont know much about your Glacier plow but i have a Moose plow for about 6 years now. I beat the HELL out of it and itnever broke on me yet. It also has a square push tube. I was flying into a pile one day but what i didnt know is it was a pile of HARD ice. I went over the handle bars and stuff and the frame didnt even bend. I have seen the Warn plows. i was looking at one of them before i bought the moose and they are very light and cheesy (in my opinion). That was the old ones i dont know about the new ones. The push tube is round steel?? If you are looking for a new plow get either a moose or a cycle country plow. You Wont Regret It
Sincerely, Polaris man with issues

I haven't had any problems with my Glacier 2 plow set-up, yet, but I'll keep an eye on it. I did quite a bit of plowing last year into some very had packed snow banks to move them back after having been there for a month or so.
