hey guys

i have a 01 sportsman 500 duse with a (polaris) warn 2000 winch that has the old type switch (yes the big grey switch) and it finally broke on me when i was stuck in a bog hole.(that is 100% my luck) anyways i went to go buy one from costal marine and that was $120 or something for and ebay is asking $87+25 s/h. is there a way i can buy the newer/mini rocker switch that replaces that big ugly grey switch and will work? so far all i can find is the 1.5 cl,2.5cl,and the 3.0cl but near one for a 2000 winch.

also has anyone used them Universal ATV Winch Rocker Switch with the Solenoid Contactor? or do anyone know how i can get my winch working again witout paying alot of cash to buy that big dumb gray switch?

I think I would check with Warn themselves as they would be be the best to answer that question.

 

i have one of those big ugly gray switches on a parts machine if your looking for a used one...

 

warn made a conversion kit that changed the 2000# into a 2500# winch just by changing the wiring. so yes you could out the compete wiring harness w/ the new style rocker switch w/ the new contacter (solenoid) box as well while keeping your old winch. however since you can buy say like a gorilla(or other brands)2500# winch most likely for around the same money as the conversion kits. hope that helps.

 

go on ebay. you can get the rocker switch/contractor for round $50. iv got 2 in the last 4yrs. one for my 2000 sportsan with a 1500lb winch. i used it for plowing for about 3yrs with no issues. i also got the same thing for my 2008 polaris with a 3000lb warn. had it for a bit over a yr now with no issues. you need to use the same solenoid w/ the "big grey switch" and if you deside to change to the rocker switch, you need the new style contacter (solenoid) as well and can't use the old one.
