unless you burn the belt by over powering it, it' sjust as good as any other brand bike. as long as you don't go over the air intakes for the breather tubes for the belt case(up by the front of the seat) you shouldn't have any water issues. imo

I have had a 99, 01, 02 , 04 ND 05 SPORTSMAN AND HAVE never HAD A BELT PROBLEM. The sportsmans are tough as nails.
