if you already put 2k into it then your net gain is only 1k
So unless that $1000 gives you just enough to buy a brand new one with cash I would say keep it.
No quad is really worth going into debt for especially when you have the know-how and machine to not have to.

That's a matter of opinion and a person's cash flow....what they have planned, etc. Now, if you can't afford the quad to begin with, then financing it is not the way to make it happen.

All depends on engine condition. You don't state compression numbers or even if you have in running condition, but if engine is tight and you don't mind the work, keep it. You know what you fixed, if you buy another used you are back to not knowing what you have until you ride it.
