Default Extended Warranty

Is it worth it? How much does it run in your area?

I bought two 4yr. warranties for both my 2006 SP450's and never had to use it. I think it depends whether or not is it worth it? The dealer who honors it, your riding style (are you more frequent to pre-maturely break things or wear them out, high miles, maintenance etc.?) environment conditions (climate, temps).

Another thing, is do you like to do your own repairs, maintenance, installation etc? If ya like to tinker and improve upon your stuff, may not want to do the warranty. IMO Case in point I didn't buy one on my SP800, everything done with it thus far has been done with my hands and will plan to do, unless I am unable (physically, money or skilled). At least I am having FUN doing it when it doesn't become FUN, time for someone else to do it, lol...lol

Cheers,

R'

dirtdizzy,

FWI... just don't let your dealer quote you the list price on the warranty. Ask him to tell you the list price form Polaris, and the price he will charge. They have considerable room to work with. For example my dealer said the 4 year on the XP from Polaris is around $1000. My dealer said he can sell it to me for around $700, and I can probably get him down even more.
