One guide is NADA. This showing a low retail of $3815 and an Average Retail of $5020. Another source is eBay. You can do an advanced search of completed listings and see if any similar have sold.
Condition is everything as you are aware. To give you an example, I passed on a brand new 2009 Sportsman 800 with a 2500lb winch at $6800.00 out the door. No other fees.
Good luck.

Careful. Really no such thing as a "demo" Most likely a repo unit or a factory test unit that was sold at the Polaris auction. I purchased a repo stealth black 2008 800 last year with 50 miles on it for $5500. Had some minor issues that I had to take care of including a bend steering stem but it was worth the money.

YES there is "such" a thing as a DEMO!! We've always demo one or two of the new models every season and they will get a few miles on em! Plus on some we do add options to "entice" buyers! Plus if we sell the demo the customer gets a few bucks off and still has the factory warranty from day of sale, plus extended warranty if he so chooses. You can't sell em if they can't drive em!! OPT

alot of dealerss i've gone to in my area don't demo the bikes except for a spin around the parking lot. if your getting a warranty w/ it and the access. it might be worth it. is it the standard version or the one w/ adc? it would make a differce on the price.

You are correct. Some dealers let you test there atvs yes. I used to have a local dealer that would let us test his units around his property yes. I purchased a brand new RZRS last month with 50 miles on it for export. The miles where from people testing it around the dealership & it was sold with a full factory warranty.
What I am saying is that there may is a difference between a "dealer test unit" and one that a dealer sells as a "demo" with hundreds of miles on it. A true dealer demo will come with the full factory warranty since it has not been reported as sold. Many Polaris dealers now have been selling ATV's calling them "demos". They are Polaris factory test units that Polaris sells on its own auction site. They also do the same with repo units that have been finance through Polaris. These units as out of warranty and are considered used units, not demos. The site looks like eBay but for dealers. Most of them have been ridden hard and look so. I was looking at several last week for my client. The units had between 70-200 miles on them. They all looked like they were driven over a thousand hard miles & full of scratches. None of them came with any warranty. If this 07 SP800 is a "true demo" It will also have a full factory warranty.
My background, I was a wholesaler of motorcycles and ATVs for many years here in Illinois, I then became a General Manager of a automotive dealership. I got smart and got out after 911. I have been exporting fine toys & parts to Norway and Denmark for 15 + years now. Just for fun here is a picture of some of the toys I purchased the first 2 weeks in December for export to a client in Denmark.

Will,
Will the dealer who is selling the DEMO really release that atv for you to take to another
dealer before the buy? Wow, you just may have a dream dealer to deal with from the start!
As much as I like my Popo dealer out of state, he DOES NOT do DEMO rides! Any NO WAY would he allow me to take off with one of his ATV's without paying for it.
Why I have to go to another state (Deleware) to demo the XP's, ho humm!
