Default Adding 2nd battery

I do a lot of plowing with my 700 and it seems to be taxing the electrical system with all the winching up and down. The yellow and red wires from the stator and starting to turn brown and sometimes it wont charge. Would another battery help cushion the load or is there a better system for lifting the plow?

Adding a second battery would'nt hurt. IMO. It's always suggested to have dual batterys on a pick-up for plowing, why not a quad? I don't know if thats a no-no for the popo's, not for sure. Have you tested your electrical system to see the output?

adding another battery would be a great add on to help plowing as it is the battery that is doing the load and your right about the charging system not being able to keep up w/ the demand.

Didnt know they made kits but I think I am just going to get an automotive battery and mount on the rear rack and wire it in parallel to the one under the seat.

Any ideas on whats causing an intermittent charging condition? The yellow and red wires from the stator are turning brown but it still charges most of the time. Just when I need it most it doesnt charge

you coulld check the connection of the recifier to see if it's corroded and clean and put di-electric grease on the connection. that controls the voltage from the stator to the battery.

Make sure you put some sort of isolator setup in between them or the weaker battery will feed off the stronger battery and you'll just end up killing a good battery.
Cheers,

with teh increased CCA and output of an auto battery you should be able to get rid of that toy battery,

Never thought of removing the little battery. Was only going to run the auto battery in the winters when I plow and then take it off in the summer time.
