Default scrambler 500 / BST 40 float adjust

Hi. I'm having hard time finding the right float adjustement on my scrambler. This BST 40 is giving me headaches. I've looked a many threads about it, found a very interesting "BST40 bible" on a dirt bike forum. When I got my scrambler 6 weeks ago, it was flooding itself. I replaced the seat/valve ***'y, but still had some minor leaks. On my last ride, I could see a few drops coming out of the overflow when riding hard ( lot of throttle, bumps) but it will idle fine and the low end is now clean. Does this sound right of am I going to get bogging issue ?

My 500 Sportsman Manual says float hight (BST40) is 13.7-15.7mm (0.53 - 0.618in) from carb body gasket to float.

Same motor and carb as a scrambler.
