XP 550 and 850 owners low range question

i wonder why Polaris dosen't mention travelling that fast in L in the manual? Of course they'll do that speed but the rpm is a little high for my liking. However, if you follow the factorys recomendations for gearing vs speed it would drive ya crazy. I seem to ride most at the high side of L and the low side of H.

"New Roller Clutch: New roller-driven clutch reduces friction and provides smoother, faster clutch respons and back shifting. Higher "Low" gear, with speeds up to 39 mph in low range"

Do you mean a clutch kit? If so then that depends on whether the stock clutch set is fully shifting out(ie belt all the way to the top/outside of the primary and all the way to the inside of the secondary) If it is then a clutch kit will not increase top speed. I havent checked top speed low range on my Outty Max since I started messing with the clutches, but in high range top speed has not changed, always 77, and I have experimented with several clutch calibrations..reason is again, they fully shift out prior to top speed and clutch shifting is no longer in the equation.

I don't think they list any max speeds in the manual...but they definitely quote/boast 39 MPH in low range for the XPs in their marketing literature.
