TOO thick for for proper awd operation. I can only recommend Polaris demand drive hub fluid, but other members may have an equivalent they have been using. OPT

if theres one place for oil you DO NOT want to cheap out in the front end or hubs as the polaris oil is designed to be used for the awd to work as he mentioned.

It's worth it for the popo oil. I change mine twice a year and it still isn't that much. Will help down the road with the dealer if you have machine issues because they will know you maintained it with the proper fluids and stuff.

Jeeezzzzzzzzzzz... do yourself a favor and use the Polaris Demand Drive fluid... and change it out a lot more frequently than once every 1500 miles for crying out loud. It's not that expensive!!!!!!

If you want to know what's expensive, call a Polaris dealer and ask him how much a new front differential costs. Then for more of a shock, ask him what it would cost to have him replace it. You'll find the prices anywhere from $900 to $1200.

The manual for your machine says 5 ounces, and to change it yearly. I did mine twice a year.

Make sure you drive it until it is warmed up good.
Park it on a level area.
Let it drain completely.
Put 5 ounces of the Demand Drive Fluid in it. Don't overfill, and don't put in to little. The Hillard diff is finicky when it comes to having just the right amount of fluid.

On a 2005 I think the front diff is the Hilliary awd system's location. So the fluid is very specific.
