Default two part clutch question

first I am seeing that my primary clutch is not opening all the way leaving about one inch of shaft exposed,,is that apt to be springs or buttons..
second,,when ppeople say to prewind your spring in your driven clutch,,, do you just hold cam and twist a third clockwise or counter...thanks

secondary clutch= depending on which sheeve you pull(can't remember not being in front of me)it would be 1/3 rd of a turn to preload the spring. primary could be a couple of things. i would pull the front cover off to check w/out spring to see what it does. hopefully it's not a ridge build up or groove worn in. just a couple of ideas.
