Yes the Clymer manuals list the old numbers 2871653 (front gearcase oil,80-90 GL5 is an equivalent oil) and 2871654 (demand drive hub fluid). These oils are still the same as the new numbers and can be used if the dealer has a supply of the smaller 8 oz bottles. OPT

If it was an older model with the awd in the hubs and not centralized awd as you have,I would say ATF in a pinch, close to the same viscosity,BUT dont put it in your gearcase. Dont substitute any oil for Demand drive fluid for the later models. OPT

Sooooo, I CAN USE the 2871654 (demand drive fluid) and 2876160 (angle drive fluid) instead of the "newer" PN's (2876251 & 2871653) listed in my manual? Thanks!

If need be a good quality synthetic 5w-20 motor oil works fine. I have used it with zero problems BUT only if I can't get the real thing.
