Default Backup lights on 850 xp

I was wanting to add backup light on my Xp. Have any of you Xp owners done this to yours? If so, how did you go about doing it?

Think Polaris offers a kit for brake/backup combo, but not sure if it's specific for XP. I have a book, will check it out later.

Our 850 XP LE came with what Polaris called work lights, same thing as backup but you need to switch them on. If you want to look factory they should fit right in on your XP and may have the wiring already.

My Xp does not have the work light option, do you know if there is a kit that will allow me to install work/backup lights.

Blue Xenon Headlight bulbs are available for XP though....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the tailights are the same from the XP and the older sportsmans, but the XP doesn't come with the clear lense for the work lights, and it isn't wired for it. Just saying, I think the tailight assemblies are the same.

My older 2002 SP 500s have 1 tail light in the center, the XP has 2, 1 on each side. The lens on the XP with the work light is 1 piece with clear on the outside, red on the inside of the quad. Adding a backup might be as simple as new lens and a little wire, plug and bulb socket

Yep, but I was referring to the newer ones with two taillights.

If you want to know for sure how to add the work lights to the XP, you should ask CC1999 or hopefully he will respond. He added them to his XP and if I remember correctly he had to buy all new wiring, light lenses, bulbs, and the switch.

you will need to get the taillights for the 2008 sportsmans and a wire harness if possable. and a switch. or you will need to get the taillights, and the light sockets from a wrecked sportsman and make your own harness. or take the taillights to a junk yard or auto parts place and see if they can get the light sockets. and make your own harness.
