Default 2005 sportsman 800 efi cold start ?

Hi Gang,

I am ready to purchase this unit and the mechanic mentioned a potential issue with cold starts when temp gets to 0F or -18C. Some knid of adjustment to fuel settings is suggested. Anyone heard of this and/or had cold start issues with this unit?

Thanks for any help.

Musky....

I live in northern MN where it gets well below zero in the Winter. Had an 05 800 for about 4 years and it never had any problems starting in the cold. Just be sure to let it warm up for a few minutes before taking off and you should have no problems!

Agreed, the EFI is great in the winter, I don't have room to store my quad in a heated building, and it will sit for several weeks at freezing or well below and fire up great every time, I haven't heard of any troubles with cold starts
