Default Drop Rack on Popo

I just purchased a Kolpin rear drop rack for mt SP 800, It seems to be very well made, and was super easy to bolt together. The website said universal fit, but it's another one of those deals where they say universal and mean "anything with steel racks". I have a couple of ideas, primarily yanking the Polaris stock plastic rack and just hard mounting the Kolpin, however I thought I'd check in with the brain trust here before I started drillin' to see if anyone has had a similar experience.
Thanks

I've only briefly looked at those but is there a way to incorporate the L&R plugs into it. I would think with a little engineering it could be done. But like I said I have'nt looked to closley at them.

That's a good idea, it'll take a little Wyle E Coyote Engineering, only problem I see is that if there's a lot of weight in the rack it'll be trying to leaver the front plugs out of their hole. But it certainly bears some investigation.

I know you can use boat bilge plugs as an economical substitute for the L&R plugs, anyone remember what size you're supposed to use? I wanna say 7/8ths but not sure.

L&R plugs are just ridiculously expensive for what they are.
Thanks Again

When I put mine together and looked at the hardware...it wasn't going to work. I used 6 HD hose clamps, fished them through the rack and through the basket. Worked out great! Mine has been installed for 4 years now, my basket hasn't budged. I load it up with gear all the time. I used 2 on each side(4 total) towards the front and 2 going around the bumper.

Your going to like that rack, very versatile!

Q, You might be able to fabricate a steel square with the L/R plugs installed in the right locations, then weld that frame to the basket.....paint the welds. You or a friend likely has a simple MIG welder. Could by the steel at Tractor Supply.

Could you reply with a link to the basket. Would like to check it out.

I wish I did have access to a MIG, believe me, I'd have some crazy stuff built by now. My brother and I are probably going to go in halves on a good MIG this spring.
Wenty gave me some good hints, I'm just going to attach it with hose clamps for now. I'll eventually want to do some kind of snazzy QD mount eventually but for now hose clamps will get the job done.

Here's a link to the drop rack:

Collapsible Rear Drop Rack

It's a pretty solid bolt together deal, Not as strong as a welded unit but I am sure it's strong enough, it went together in less than 15 minutes, but you more or less have to figure out how to do it yourself because the instructions are useless.
I'll post some pics once I get it mounted up.

Looks like a nice durable product. I was considering this product myself around the hunting season for my 5gal buckets but decided on a poly cart to haul to get my feeders in.

Here is a thought and you may have thought about it already.Until you come up with a more quick release solution like with the L&R or bilge plugs. How about you remove the rear plastic rack, no biggie and match plastic rack hardware from local hardware store with new longer screws that could go thru basket rack on top, may need to drill holes just thru the metal for that and what you will come out with is using the same STOCK screws that fasten its plastic rear rack to hold BOTH the new basket rack on top of the rear plastic rack. Follow me? May need to add some bushings to take up the drop hole space in the rear plastic holes? Just another thought?

If you go with this I would like to see some pics cuz I still want this product I have lots of utility uses I can do with it.

Cheers,

R'
