Default Fuel warning light flasing on Polaris 500

I Have a 2008 Polaris 500 EFI Sportsman. The fuel tank is full, however the fuel warning keeps flashing on the console... Probably the sensor, but hot sure.. Anyone tell me what to look for here and if it is the sensor what to do about it? Thanks...

it might be the sending unit ins idew the tank that is meesed up. either stuck in the down postion or the reading unit is malifunctoned. imo.

Take it for a bumpy ride and see if the float is not stuck on the bottom.
How long was the fuel tank low before it was filled?
...................

My flashed LOW once and I filled it while at idle and it stayed flashing for quite awhile before going off, I can't remember, but I may have needed to turn the Quad off and then it cleared when started again........But my is not EFI ,So you may have some different issues also............Caper.........

my guess would be to take it out of the tank(the sending unit and fuel pump are together)and check the operation by hand and the wires.

Thanks Stendori and caper...

I guees either the sensor is stuck or not working.. I e mailed my dealer in Tennessee and he told me the same thing.. He wants me to make an appointment to get it fixed, but that could probably be a couple of hundred bucks, if that cheap...Plus I live in Chicago ... I will try and fix it myself.. Caper, the tank was never empty...has alaways been at least 1/2 fulll. I have had it on some rough trails and it is still stuck after about a month... Waht to do??? Woe is me LOL

Thanks you guys

just pull it out and start trouble shooting. you should be able to do that w/out a dealer involvment to save money.

The 02 Saturn cars had a problem like that & they came up with an additive to dump in the fuel tank to free up the mechanism. Might help.
