im positive the above wire diagram will work. i just need to find the right parts and havent had no luck yet.

i may also install a switch on my headlight pod so i can bypass the magnetic switch during the summer.

The diagram is correct. All you need is a 12V, closed circuit magnetic switch. I like the idea of running a backup switch for when the ruts/mud/log/sticks rip the magnetic switch off....you know that's bound to happen. For that secondary switch all you should need to do is run a second wire from the winch (IN) switch to the contactor with a toggle inline.

Here's a thought...rather than having the switch mounted on the underside of the frame where it's at risk of being ripped off....weld a (L)bracket on the push tube...a piece of flat bar that bolts on with the non wired half of the switch at the end of the flat bar. This way you could hide the switch somewhere up in the frame, out of the way....it won't ice up or get ripped off. Does that make any sense?? I have it figured in my head but may not be clear through my type.

I see what your saying out the l bracket, and then you could mount the switch more up towards the rad. behind the rad. cover

Good Idea
