Default lift kit worth it?

is a 2" lift kit worth it for an 08 polaris 400 ho? I plan on getting some 26 zillas for it, but not sure if the 2" is worth it to those that bought it for other models. dont care about the quality discussion, just wondering about stock vs 2" higher

i think you won't be able to put those tires on the bike because of the rear fneder hitting the tire. i put 25" swamp lites on my wifes 400 ho and had to do a little trimming to make them fit and they still rubbed a little when she was riding hard. i don't belave a lift will help at all. imo.

Well, the tire fitment issue is one thing I can't really tell you. What kinf of riding do you do? I just bought a 500 with a 2" lift. I plan on mostly doing trail riding and would rather have the lower center of gravity so I think I am going to remove it. I would think a lift would mostly be helpful for getting through ruts in mud.

ok, I do a lot of trail riding, then the mud pit that is every now and then. So I guess then that if I am not hitting the mud non stop then I wont need the lift?
also, with the zillas, the lug sizes are different, and 1 inch understated, so a 26 is a 25, and with 3/4" lugs, they shouldnt hit plastic, so no trimming necessary. I havent changed tires yet though so I have no experience

What i found was it makes the wheeler more stable with the 2" lift. A lot less roll in the corners and the side hills. I don't bottom out like i did with the stock set up. IMO its worth every penny. On my Old 700 i ran stock tire with the 2" lift.

ok good deal, thanks. any pics of stock and after lift? mbogosia, if itll fit ill take the lift off you. otherwise the one that fits is only around 100, so not too bad.

I have an 08 400HO and have tried lots of combos. Found the stk height with a little more agressive tire like mud lites will handle all trails & 99% of mud.
