My 05 500HO would do 60 on flat smooth roads. I had a buddy pace me with his truck. I think it was more like 61 or 62. Had a wicked front end shake at that speed though.

I do not have any idea of what your bike went thur to get to 850 miles. If you have a lot of stop and go or using the wrong gear like being in high range smoking the belt. Its an easy check though your dealer should have done this any way if its a new machine.

There are other checks that can cause loss of vehicle speed throttle cable not going to wide open, water in the fuel, engine miss you see the list goes on.So all I can do is answer your question with the info you gave us.

Tire size is a good point.. My 500HO had 26" PXT's and was always a tick slower than my buddy who had 25" 489's. Also the belt could be shot by 850 miles depending how the quad is used. Mine had narrow spots in several places on the belt at 300 miles. My fault, not the quads. I tried a few things in high range that I shouldn't have. But I could feel them under load.

if bike is running correctly flat out, then try pullinf clutch cover off and take a lok at where the belt is sitting in the clutches and see if it has flat spots burnt into it. imo
