I just received my weisco piston from recreation unlimitted yesterday and am sending my cylinder and head to be bored and shaved .020 today. When I get it back is there anything special you have to do for a 2 stroke 250 quad that you wouldn't do for a car piston. I have installed car pistons before and I was going to go buy what I know about that. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Cover the connecting rod and bolts somehow so it won't scratch your fresh bore or crank. I'm not sure about this one on a 2 stroke but make sure the end gap on your rings is set right so they don't seize in the bore when running the motor. Also make sure the rings are facing the right way so you have good oil control and even wear. Use a good torque wrench. Follow the manufacture guidelines for breakin period and proceedures. Enjoy!
