Default Tracks and Trucks

Will a track ATV fit in the back of a pick-up? Also, will a Big Boss 6x6 with tracks fit?

Thanks!

Should squeeze an atv in a full size but not sure on the 6x6.

if there is 50'' between wheel wells, do you see a problem? Will teh track "flex" to fit or will it need to ride over the well? If they flex and basically bend to fit, do you think that will do any damage?

I don't see where 1.5'' on each side will make any differance but I also don't see that being able to support the weight of the bike.

Gunner....It will fit, but it's not pretty. The tracks buckle when they contact the wheel wells. What I've done before I bought a trailer was build ramps up, over the wells and then continue the same height back to the end of the bed. This allows the front tracks to climb up and rest on the top of the well without getting pinched. You just keep the gate down and the rear tracks ride on that a bit. You should place a block of some kind in the front of the bed so the machine does not come thought the rear window in emergency stop. Obviosly the block should contact the back of the bed so it's moving around. A full section of wood that runs from side to side would be best. You should come up with some kind of strap system to keep it in there. So, yes it's totally possible with the right ramps and a bit of prep work.

I did not like climbing that huge beast up onto the truck with ramps. Much more stable to pull a trailer IMO. However, if you are on sloppy roads keeping the bike in the back bed is a lot cleaner than throwing crap up all over your machine as you travel. An enclosed trailer is the ticket, but mine is a nice, small, light aluminum unit.

For about the same amount of $ as a good trailer you can get a deck system that fits in your truck bed. Basically looks like a flat bed cover on top of the box. Seen a few different types and they seem to work well. Nice thing about that is you still have the truck box to store/haul stuff. May get one myself some day but I already have an aluminum 6x10 and a steel 20' dovetail car hauler and they fit my needs well.

I don't think they make tracks for the Big Boss 6x6. It is probably problematic with the rear IRS on both sets of back wheels. At least I don't see them listed for the 2010 Big Boss 6x6 800. Anybody else know?

Depends on the Truck, ATV, and Tracks. Each brand is a little different.I know my XP 850 with Tatou 4s tracks is about 59" wide x 8' long.

Another thing to consider is the weight of a Tracked ATV as you will be adding 300+ lbs to your machine so a heavy duty set of ramps is essential. I personally say go with a trailer, safer and the bed of your truck is free for other things. It is also a lot easier to load a broken ATV onto a trailer then in a pickup box.

The tracks I've seen for the 6x6 are a single track that goes around both wheels. Not sure who makes them.

I've seen some, but will have to look around for a link to the set. If you search youtube it's on there....easy to find.
