2001 Polaris Sportsman 90 - No Spark

Thank OPG. Sorry for coming of as so clueless here. When I test the resistance, do a battery need to be connected? Do it need to be cranked when testing resistance?

Thought I just answered that,BUT you don't crank it or it really doesn't matter if you have a battery connected or not on general resistance tests. When you pull the stator wires/coil wire from the harness to do the tests,there is no voltage involved to either component. Resistance tests are not always 100% fool proof, but are a good way to detect any obvious problem in the component being tested.That's why resistance specs are shown in the manuals.
