what up grades to do
i am thinking of doing some mods to my 2004.5 sportsman 600, i was thinking of a slipon exhust and a k&n and also jetting the card, the reason i want to do this is i feel the machine lost alittle power when i switched to 26 inch bearclaws and alum. rims from the stock tire and wheels, is it worth it or should i just live with what i got. and also would a clutch kit be worth it. thank you all in advance for your advise.
Thanks
Andrew

HPD makes a great carb kit for doing that. But then with more air in you have to have a way to get more air out.
Call RcR(on the phone) and get a Dalton clutch kit you will be happy with the results

i am going to have to give him a call, his web site does not say to much about 600's, any one else have any ideas on what i can do to squezz alittle more out of this thing, i am sold on the clutch kit, and it seems like for the 600 it is cheaper than all the other sizes, wich is good for my wallet. anyone know of any other sites to go to so i can atleast do some research on the parts that would need

If you have a good dealer they will install the clutch kit pretty reasonable so you don't have to buy the tools and play with something that important that you aren't familiar with. Definitely replace the belt and keep the old one for a spare. As for jetting, just be aware that by gaining in one spot you will lose some in another. I was reminded how sweet efi is the other day when I rolled out my daughter's 08 sp300 so she could run around the yard. Takes forever for that thing to get warmed up!
