I don't think it will make a difference, the winch cable should not have any problem even if the angle of the "pull" is a bit different. The reason the winch mounts lower on the 2010 is because they raised the radiator up and tilted it back to keep mud and stuff out of it.

Do the X2 owners here notice the extra length when navigating in very tight, twisty trails? I'm really intrigued by the X2 but I ride in very tight wooded and brushy areas and I'm concerned with the extra length.

Also does anyone else find it odd that Polaris doesn't offer the X2 with an 850?

As for turf mode I really wish Polaris would offer it on all of their ATV models. That's a great option to have.

In very tight, twisty trails, you might have to work a little harder to get through than with a normal wheelbase quad. Not a ton more, but still more. I only had one spot on a trail I could not get through because of this issue. There were two sets of two trees where the quad barely fit through the first set. The second set was barely the length of the quad and was over 2 feet to the side of the first. I ended up having to go off trail to get around this area. (I learned later that I was on a motocross only trail and the sign at the trailhead had disappeared) That was the only time I couldn't get through.

And, yes, I find it odd they don't make the XP version of the X2 with an 850. Even odder is that it doesn't have power steering available.

My guess is that the "Turf Mode" is the reason there is no 850X2 right now. They probably have to beef up the dif. As for the PS, it is nice, but a bit overrated I'd say....

I live in the Damascus area. I know they just opened up GreenRidge last week, it was closed for about a month due to the snow/weather. I went up to Michaux in PA about three weeks ago and GreenRidge will be my next trip. Let me know when you are planning to go on your next ride and I will meet you up there. Where do you live?
