Any concerns about the x2 is anything going to be vastly differnt from the other sportsman 500 and 550. Just having a hard time making the decision it the x2 is really worth it over a 550 or a 500 ho

 

Howdy hallj86.........the stability of the X2 with the longer wheel base is tops in my book.....and I really like the turf-mode, I use that a lot. I'm just waiting for an X2 with EPS and my '07 is gone......NoJoke

 

X2 is a great machine. 400 lb. rating in the rear. Able to go from 1 up to 2 up in seconds. Tows over 1200 lbs. Longer wheelbase makes it more stable. Especially going up or down hills. If it comes with the storage box that's a great asset. I stow a ton of stuff in mine.

 

My biggest reason for going w/the X2 was for the (tiny) load bed that turns into a 2nd seat. If you don't plan to have riders and/or your state doesn't require a factory seat for 2-up riding, the bed alone isn't really worth the extra cash....though the turf mode MIGHT be.....

 

I've had my 2010 X2 for a couple months now and it is AWESOME. Rode about 40 miles trails with 10-12" snow on them, no problems. The longer wheel base makes for better stability on steep hill climbs and the Turf Mode is great because it doesn't tear up the yard.

 

you guys are getting me excited about the decision. turf mode is the real kicker thats making me want it since i have to ride through my yard to get to my trails. Plus the bed will be great for hauling things instead of buying the drop rack. The seat is for the hopes that the lady will join me

 

The two-up option was the deciding factor for me so that I could take my wife and kids on the back legally on the state trails in MD and PA. I was working in my yard all day on Sunday in Turf mode and did not tear up any grass, didn't even leave any tracks. I also got the Glacier II plow and got a chance to use it on all the snow we got in MD back in February, it worked great. hallj6, let me know if you have any questions.

the position of your winch is making the cable pull back to pick the blade up instead of lifting it. Is that going to be the same for my case and if so will that be bad for the life if the cable

 

The winch is lower on the 2010 than the previous models. The way the Glacier II mount pivots on the front braket instead of having to "lift" a push tube makes the placement of the winch work well. If anything there is less wear and tear on the cable because it does not have to "bend" over the bottom roller of the fairlead as much because it is more straight out instead of angled down and over the bottom roller. Are you considering the Glacier II plow?
