any rumors on the 2011 polaris's

Myself, I'd like to see Polaris come out w/a really sporty Sportsman. Sporty plastic w/small racks. Get rid of the chassis mounted headlights and have a dual set-up in the instrument pod. Available w/either the 550 or 850.

sure hope 850 scrammy comes agree can am has market now but that was polaris at one time and now they are going to try and take sxs class too with 1000 commander you have to keep going bigger to stay alive i will settle with some new models or at least some cost savings from making them in mexico can list 1000 cheaper that would be fine with me

Was at my Canadian dealer yesterday,he said he had to order 3 more 500 H.O ,there's still a market for them since there almost $2000 less than a XP550. He sells Suzuki also and most people opp for the 750KQ which sellls for the same price as the 550.

At my local dealer, the difference between the tow is on $1,00. 500HO vs 550 Non EPS.
Do not hold your breath expecting the 500HO to return. The 550 is its replacement.
I am buying in the spring, most likely a 550 Non EPS.

I would be very surprised if the 500 is gone. It is still the flagship atv for polaris. There is no better value of machine on the market. It is also a huge factor to polaris marketshare for atvs. I would bet a paycheck the 500 stays. When the 550 chassis gets popular and is prooved to be what the 500 is, then the 500 will go away. The 550 is not anywhere near that yet in public opinion. The 800 sportsman i think should stay too. Again, it is a great atv no matter how "outdated" the critics say it is. Nothing rides better and nothing out works it other than the xp chassis. It is cheap too!!! I think the ranger will see a diesel. I think a larger cc engine will be seen but wonder if now is the time. Economics say the public isn't spending money now. So would the hype and thrill pay off of a larger engine? Maybe it would be a good time to start a new product. The lack of huge sales would give them more time to get it right without the mass issues of problems. I think price and best bang for the dollar is the selling point now. The old, reliable, 800 and 500 sportsmans i think will still pay the bills. Rangers will also be a huge deal. The other atvs are just for bragging rights

It has not been re-certified by Carb. Chances are it is gone. From what I heard, they will adjust the price on the 550 since it will be the base machine.
Hope they are wrong, but it does not look good.

I'm a 500 carb fan I personally don't see any advantage having a EFI machine . Now with that said I'm not reading as many posts of EFI problems on the XP's as I did on the older models . I'm thinking maybe Polaris did some improvements making the new ones more reliable , but the carb model like my 08 is a problem free machine . I've never seen a code and would not own one if I was experiencing the problems that these EFI machines have . I ride alone almost 100 percent of the time doing 3000 miles plus a year I don't want to be relying on a sensor or some stupid wire problem to get me back home . If your a EFI owner just ask yourself if you believe your EFI machine would go 8000 miles in 3 years problem free like my 08 carb has just did .
