Might have to jump up to RZR when they come out with a 1000. I'd drop 12K for that rig running around 80hp. Wasn't impressed with the RZR800. More ***** required for something that size. As is, my XP850 blows it away in pretty much every category.

The wife has said (repeatedly) she wants an rzr. I'd really like to see a 1000. Just the extra weight of the vehicle itself, and hauling 2 people, it seems like it would be a no brainer.

Alas, my usual prediction for Polaris has always been "Bold new graphics".

My 500 does pretty good with 2 people on it. Even so, I think they should put the 850 in the RZR.

Polaris employees are extremely tight-lipped about upcoming new product. Your best bet is talk to racers. Polaris uses racing as a development tool. They give their racers the new stuff to try out and then get feedback and do tear downs and see what broke (or didn't). A lot of people (including myself) have said they'd like Polaris to come w/a Renegade competitor, and I've spoke directly w/Polaris employees about this. The problem is, Rangers and RZRs are Polaris' bread and butter, so Polaris is gonna keep spending development money there to make money. As it goes, like I said previously, I'd love to see Polaris come out w/a Renegade 800 competitor. Start with an Outlaw IRS chassis and adapt it to accept an XP 850 motor and tranny. Use XP front suspension to keep the AWD. Keep sportsman XP front end w/out the headlights, use the 2010 Scrambler/Trailblazer front fenders w/scaled-up Phoenix rear fenders and add a flat spot behind the seat w/tie-down loops to have an area to carry stuff. Route the exhaust identical to the Outlaw. Lastly, give it a handlebar-mounted dual-headlight pod styled more aggressively akin to the Polaris Rush sled. And keep the weight about 600-625lbs for the 850, less for the 550, and offer it in Orange Madness or Indy Red.

I doubt Polaris is after a HP crown, if anything they detune there ATV motors. The 7ohp 850 XP motor does not make the power of the 85hp 750 4 stroke twin they use in there Polaris sleds . Same with AC the 70hp 1000 thunder Cat ATV does not make close to the power there 120hp 1000 4 stroke Sleds do.

They hold back on ATV due to law suits ,I,m guessing. ATVs do not handle high 100 mhp speeds like a sled can and they know it.

I read somewhere that the 850 engine was tested to 150 HP. All the major brands detune their quad engines.
