any rumors on the 2011 polaris's
#21
Polaris is cutting models not adding them. The best selling machine of all time was cut from the lineup in 2010 500 Carb... They just released the 2009 new style... Changed a bunch for 2010.. I would bet the bank that there is NOT a new chassis coming out!!!.. The Renegade market is very small and Canam is already king there. why would a company come out with something that would be very difficult to sell... Makes no sense!!!

I cannot see any significant changes to the XP line. Possibly an HO version of the 850 and maybe the 550, but from what my dealer told me they will most likely be keeping the 800 and the 500efi as "base" models for at least another year maybe 2.
as for a renegade competitor, i dont see polaris trying to capitalize on that market. Polaris will most likely stick with the xp and ranger series as their bread and butter.
what they need to do is work out the kinks to the xp series and improve upon that design. go back to 4 wheel discs, separate the brakes, and maybe loose 50lbs or but i dont see any of that happening.

I wouldn't mind seeing some competition to the Renegade. I love my son's. Thing flies. But, it would be nice to see someone give them a run for their money. I really thought they'd at least go to EFI on the Scrambler with a double A-arm front end but all they did was change the plastic????? Didn't make much sense to me. I haven't seen a comparison but I'm willing to bet a stock 550 Sportsman will beat a stock Scrammie. And, yes, I'd still like to see an 850 X2 with or without power steering.

That rumor's been going around for awhile. However, if you guys get a chance, look up the Warko CVT on youtube or just google it. It's a beltless cvt that uses concave and convex cones in contact with each other to change gear ratios. It's much more compact and light than a belt-drive CVT and is more than capable of handling the range of Hp and tq that ATV engines put out. It's also a straight-thru design that would work perfect for the XP's longitudinal engine setup.
