Default 06 450 Major Issues

I have an 06 Sportsman 450. It has about 5000 miles. I was riding today and was fine for about the first 20 miles, then heard a knocking, pinging sound in the cylinder. Tried making it home, it went away for a while, then came back about 10 miles later and then heard a pop. Seems like the piston is stuck now. Wont start and the recoil wont' pull. Anyone know what the fix might be?

Sounds like the motor is torched. If it's locked up like that you may be looking at a rebuild.

could be seizied bearing, mabe a broken piston skirt. best thing to to start pulling it apart like the carb and and intake as well as the exhaust manifold to get a look at the psiton/cylinder area and maybe the head to check it out.

Check the oil level and see if you have any oil in there first.........Sounds like you may have ran it dry. After you heard the sound at around 20 miles did you check anything then?.....Did you do the oil change at app. every 50 hours?
How was the service over the 5000 miles?
..........Caper......

It wasn't run dry, checked the oil before I rode and was good, and gets changed regularly. Regularly serviced for the life of the machine so far.
