just b/c someone bought an $8k machine, doesnt mean you need to be overcharged to maintain it. you can certainly take care of your machine, and be thorough on maintenance. you can also buy excellent oils and filters, but you dont have to pay a way overinflated price for dealer/manufacturer oil.

if you buy a $200k house, are you going to pay $x for window that can had elsewhere for 1/2, for the same quality, if not better??

All Polaris oils are "FULL SYNTHETIC" Goggle "Synthetic oil vs Conventional oil" and try to find one advantage dinosaur oil has over synthetic besides a low price.

Good like with that.

i put 10w 30 and a fram filter in my 2000 sportsman for 7 yrs. NEVER had an engine issue. 7000 miles when it was sold. didnt burn a drop.

on my 2008 iv been useing either fram or now i found wix filter cheaper by $.20 and mobile oil. just was on sale for $5.99 a qt.

i agree with some zilch. if i can find a cheaper way to maintain it or find the same product ill go that way. wheelers are way over priced, and the parts are evon more way over priced. a filter for a wheeler should not be more than an automotive filter. some parts you have to get at polaris. but oil and a filter isent one of them. polaris dont make the filter, and i really doubt they have a oil refinery.
