Thanks man. He says there is nothing wrong with the coil or plug cap. I'll try to get some more information later or see if he can post to the forum to explain things a little better than me.

, so he is getting readings of 50 peak volts going to and from the CDI. Most quads have atleast 100 or more. A little 50cc has 150. He's convinced it's the flywheel. I don't get how a flywheel could be bad. All the magnets are strong, aside from 1 little chip. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and order a new one.

Your bike, according to the manual should have 130 volt +/- . Mine had 128 when I checked it. You have to use a multimeter with a min/max capability. If I remember right my Fluke only showed about 50 volts, so I used my Vetronic MTS 5100 to catch the 128 reading. I have also read a post on this forum in the past that this test was not that reliable in troubleshooting the system, it was recommened to go by resistance readings. I have those if you need them. What was your compression reading?

The compression reading was 120. He was using some sort of adapter you plug into a multimeter that stores the peak voltage. Could you give me the resistance specs and I will have him double check with that before I go shelling out the cash for a new flywheel.

All values in ohms; Exciter Blk/R to Brn/w 120, coil tab to coil ground .3, coil tab to plug wire end ( cap removed) 6.3k, plug cap 3.7k to 6.3k. All readings +/- 20%
I also checked the secondary on my bike with a spark tester set @ .030 and recorded 20kv on starting kv test.

FINALLY!!!!! It ended up being the flywheel... I ordered a flywheel from Ritter Cycle, awesome service he provides, btw.
The Sport started right up after swapping them.
I can't wait to put some serious mod work into this thing.

Happy to see your problem resolved. Thanks also for posting what fixed it, I have been wondering these past few days. Rick is my main source for parts and agree he is very good to deal with.
