Uni no start

Default Uni no start

well 2009 xp850 bought uni air filter took old stock one out matched it up to uni looks same except for red sponge makes it slightly bigger round . put oil on uni installed was a little snugger fit , and bike wont start at all put stock back in and starts back up fine ????????

Maybe too much oil, I put the k@n out of my old 700 in mine , works fine.

Just put a UNI in one of our XP's and my old K&N in the other with no issues. Ran fine in the dust on Sunday.

yeah, i put this PJ-1 oil stuff on my moose filter, it barely ran, washed it roughly, hour later started runnin like its running out of gas(air chokin off) washed again then great, and actually still has freakin oil on it even though i washed it twice in dishwashing liquid,,,,,,,,,

well you guys were right!!! way too much oil ..... washed it all out...put back in with no oil . started fine ran fine .took back out and oiled light with a spray air filter oil by cant remember max something . runs good... that was just odd ... that spray is very tacky and local atv shop said saturate red foam very very good ....lol so thats how i didit ,,,, so lesson learned .. thanks

hell, rub it on your filter still might have oil on it!! mine does! if not spray the oil on a large paint brush then rub it Lightly on the surfaces,watch for shiny,has to have oil to protect,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

i use the pj-1 on my uni filfer also... it is very tacky (wont even come off your hands without a real strong cleaner... one thing i tried to still get all the filter covered without soaking it was to spray the oil in a few areas than squish (yeah i said squish) the filter together and roll it until the oil gets squeezed into all the pores... once the outer filter is done then place the unoiled smaller filter inside. The vacuum of the motor will pull the rest of the oil through the filter. this has always given me good filtration without choking the engine
