850 Idle

850 Idle
Just curious, what is the idle speed on a stock 850? I currently have mine maintaining 1300-1400 rpm at warm idle with no engine light coming on, and no codes. It does search a little bit in tha range for proper idle, but so far so good.
This is after 3 hours of "tweeking", I think I will call it good for tonight and go ride tomorrow.

Yes, I know about adjusting idle speed. However, I need to. Can anybody tell me what the minimum base idle is supposed to be? This is the idle speed with out any input from the IAC. This measurement can be obtained by pinching off both hoses on top of the throttle body at warm idle, or by blocking the one hose between the intake tube and IAC. This would be a really good piece of info for me, I should have gathered this before the latest mod but didn't. I did ride it all day, and it would intermittently set a code for high idle speed. Runs really good other than a little bit high on idle.
Thanks...Ray

Throttle cable may be adjusted too tight up by the throttle housing on the bars. Some of the first 850's had to be tightened up to take slack out of the cable, which would cause the controller to think the throttle was hung open, and it would stall the quad when the thumb lever was suddenly released. Mine took about two minutes to fix when it was doing that.

I can fit the plates a little tighter and slow it down, just wondering what base idle is supposed to be.
