It is free with no scraping when the plug is pulled. Compression is also good. I haven't checked with a compression tester, but it blows my thumb off the plug hole. I have taken the top end apart to check the rings and everything is good there.

How do I check for bad compression release? I don't know where that would be.

Thanks for your help.

I didn't think the Xpress 300 had a compression release.

yeah, Loquist you might want to ask a dealer if it has one,its directly in front of the camshaft,if it has one i can give you instructions,it runs on a actuator ball thats pressed into the cam.

what i would do is see what it does overnight without having ran,,,,,,,like putting a comp. guage on, build up the compression then try later,or just leave the plug in, spin over alot then leave alone,,,then try with nothing in the hole,(thats not what she said) that will tell you if its friction/heat/overclearance/piston-rings related,,,,,,,,,,,,
