New, or Rebuilt Starter?
#12
Check locally at a starter/alternator rebuild shop near you.
Had the starter go out on my motorcycle about 3 weeks ago. New from Kawasaki it was 416 bucks plus the governments share. Could get a rebuilt one online for 200. Called around my area and got prices of 150, 130, 115 and finally found a place that said 95. And it may be less than 95 depending on what's wrong with it. They had a website to check out, had great reviews and did work on any type starter. ATV and PWC as well.
Dropped it off near closing time and the next day it was ready by noon. Cost was 47.50 and tax. The part they replaced would not have been in the 30 dollar rebuild kit I almost bought on ebay too.
